About Us

Mission Statement

To encourage people to overcome isolation with a range of fun, interactive workshops and outdoor activities for the benefit of boosting their health and well-being.

Full Mission Statement

Green Door is based in Stoke-on-Trent and aims to enrich the lives of local people, especially those who are older or disabled. As a community group, which is open to everyone, our aim is to encourage people to overcome isolation by taking part in activities and workshops to promote healthier lifestyles using Staffordshire’s glorious green spaces.

Exercise and stimulation inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, we open up the door to make life better.

Our long term goals are to grow into a strong established social enterprise and activity provider with a strong volunteer support network, connected to other activity facilitators.

Carers Policy

  • For those who need it, one carer per paying customer is allowed to accompany the paying user without charge.
  • A second carer can, at the discretion of Green Door staff accompany a disabled person without charge if it is necessary.
  • If you feel this policy does not meet your needs, please speak to us and we will endeavour to meet the need of all our users.

Volunteers Urgently needed!

Here at Green Door a small core of dedicated volunteers provide our services to the community, until recently nobody got paid at Green Door, apart from outside service suppliers who supply events we cannot do ourselves. However In Oct 2018 Green Door with a grant from the National Lottery has now employed one full time and two part time member of paid staff. Generally volunteering at Green Door is not a taxing position, and as a cycle volunteer, there can be some periods of inactivity on days when we are not busy. However at present the work load is currently spread between too few volunteers that mean some are committing themselves to far too many days. To ensure we don’t lose the excellent volunteers we have by over working them, Green Door must recruit more if we are to survive
If you can volunteer, please give us a call on 07988357447 or drop Julian an email on julian@green-door.org.uk
